All of our boats are 60 feet long and sleep eight to ten people. The US Coast Guard maximum people allowed onboard is 12, unless accompanied by one of our licensed captains (Day Trips, for example). Twin Engines in the stern allow customers with even modest boating skills to operate these monsters with relative ease.

  • An initial full tank of gas

  • Basic working knowledge of carburated engines, in case of trouble?

Our 60ft Sunstar and Horizon Houseboat Cruisers are powered along easily by 2 inboard/outdrive 4 cylinder GAS Mercruisers. Alpha 1 Drives hang down approx 1 ft from the bottom of the boat - which gives the boats a 3.5ft draft.

Drive engine Gas consumption mostly depends on rpm, with weight and balance a deciding factor also. At cruising speed of 9mph, 3-4 GPH PER ENGINE is an appropriate estimate.

Our 12.5kw Westerbeke Generators have handled all sorts of loads - including 5 piece rock bands and electric health devices.

The Air conditioning units are a standard household unit - and when on the genset burns upwards of 2 GPH. Winter Months will make the generator burn less fuel as there is not a lot of heat needed down here!
